Australian Visa Fees Set to Increase on 1 July 2017

As part of the 2017 – 2018 Federal Budget announcement last month, it was confirmed that indexation of visa application charges (VACs) will occur from 1 July 2017. All current VACs will be indexed annually in line with the forecast Consumer Price Index (CPI).

Please find below an outline of some of the fee increases from 1 July:

Temporary Work (Short Stay Specialist) (Subclass 400) Visa Main applicant: $275

Per secondary applicant 18 years or over: $275

Per secondary applicant under 18 years: $70

 

Main applicant: $280

Per secondary applicant 18 years or over: $280

Per secondary applicant under 18 years: $70

 

Training Visa (Subclass 407) Main applicant: $275

Per secondary applicant 18 years or over: $275

Per secondary applicant under 18 years: $70

 

Main applicant: $280

Per secondary applicant 18 years or over: $280

Per secondary applicant under 18 years: $70

 

Temporary Activity (Subclass 408) Visa Main applicant: $275

Per secondary applicant 18 years or over: $275

Per secondary applicant under 18 years: $70

 

Main applicant: $280

Per secondary applicant 18 years or over: $280

Per secondary applicant under 18 years: $70

 

Temporary Work (Skilled) Subclass 457 Visa Main applicant: $1060

Per secondary applicant 18 years or over: $1060

Per secondary applicant under 18 years: $265

 

Main applicant: $1080

Per secondary applicant 18 years or over: $1080

Per secondary applicant under 18 years: $270

 

Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 186)/Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (Subclass 187) Main applicant: $3600

Per secondary applicant 18 years or over: $1800

Per secondary applicant under 18 years: $900

 

Main applicant: $3670

Per secondary applicant 18 years or over: $1835

Per secondary applicant under 18 years: $920

 

5 Year Resident Return (subclass 155) Visa $360 per person $365 per person

 

Revenue from the VACs is expected to increase to $2,275.6 million in 2017-18 (an increase of $190.1 million over the 2016-17 estimates).
