Written by on with 0 comments

In October 2014, the Australian government announced the introduction of a new stream within the Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 188). The new stream is called the “Premium Investor Visa” (“PIV“). Here are 5 things you should know about the PIV:

  1. $15m into complying investments
  2. No residency requirement
  3. Required to be nominated by Austrade.
  4. A holder of a PIV will be eligible to apply for permanent residency after maintaining their complying investment for 12 months.
  5. The Significant Investor Visa (“SIV“) will still continue to exist.
